There are a few items that I would like to share with that might be of interest to you.
www.massagetherapyfoundation.org is inviting investigators to apply for funds for massage research in many different areas. Any level of experience may apply. More information is online, or contact Alison Pittas at
Blogging – I have set up a group site and this question keeps coming up, ‘What is blogging?’ or ‘what is a blog?’ I would like to provide you with a simple explanation.
It is nothing more then an online log that gives you the opportunity to make a positive impact on your self and your business. It is an easy way to get your thoughts, ideas, research, business, or what ever you want to share and then choose to allow comments or feed back. Again your choice.
Blogging, according to http://www.marketingterms.com/dictionary/blog ,
a blog is a frequent, chronological publication of personal thoughts and Web links.
A blog is often a mixture of what is happening in a person's life and what is happening on the Web, a kind of hybrid diary/guide site, although there are as many unique types of blogs as there are people.
People maintained blogs long before the term was coined, but the trend gained momentum with the introduction of automated published systems, most notably Blogger at blogger.com. Thousands of people use services such as Blogger to simplify and accelerate the publishing process.
Blogs are alternatively called web logs or weblogs. However, "blog" seems less likely to cause confusion, as "web log" can also mean a server's log files.
Blogging is easy, even if you know nothing about creating websites or the online world. I created a blog site for the ccnhWI group at ccnhWI.blogspot.com and invited you to join. You can create your own blog by going to www.blogger.com . You can blog alone or with a friend or within a group.
You can blog about anything, and be just about anywhere with the use of a PDA or cell phone. It is a good practice to post something at least once a week.
Some ideas to blog and how to get ideas…since our group has a common interest of Clayton College of Natural Health, write about school, your studies, post a question such as ‘What natural ways have you tried to clear acne?’ or attach a photo and ask ‘Describe what you see and how does it make you feel?’, then allow your readers to provide input then post a summary. You may also write about your experience with customers and client, but NEVER mention them by name or give too much detail that some one can identify the person or a particular incident. Post a book review or interview. Promote yourself and your business. Share news about what’s new with you, items or services are you offering, or discounts you are providing.
Add links and photos with ease. Just like adding an email attachment, simply insert a photo. And don’t forget to provide links to interesting sites or related work.
Post on different sites such as www.beta.netscape.com and www.mercola.com sign up as a user and post your philosophy of natural health (just a thought).
You may have blogs sent to you. Google has an easily subscription feed option that you can set up and have a certain group of blogs, such as natural health, holistic nutrition, or wellness, ‘fed’ to you.
Next time you are looking for resources, feedback on thought or subject, wanting to promote yourself or business, give blogging a try. You might even find it therapeutic.
ENJOY!
Liz
